Print on wood panel.Andy Warhol began his professional life as a commercial artist, working for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and had his first individual show in 1952 at the Hugo Gallery in New York.The 1960s was his most prolific decade, during which time he produced many of the paintings that became icons of 20th-century art, such as Campbell's Soup Cans, and Marilyns.In addition to painting, Warhol made several 16mm films which have become underground classics, such as Chelsea Girls and Empire, and ventured into television and several other artistic collaborations during the 1980s. He died in 1987.
